The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin today. The first match will be played at Eden Gardens Stadium between Kolkata and Bengaluru at 7.30pm. The opening serum will also be held at 6pm.
This time 10 teams will play their own matches in 13 places. The 7 team has one home ground, while 3 teams have also chosen another home ground. 7 matches 3 will be played in other selected places. In the 18th season, only 3 teams chose the second choice home ground. Earlier in 17 seasons, there were 12 fields where IPL matches were held. But this time they did not get hosting rights. These include the stadium in Indore, Ranchi and Raipur.
IPL matches have also been held at 8 stadiums in South Africa and 3 stadiums of UAE. However, this was done because of the Lok Sabha elections and the Corona virus. Apart from this, the IPL match has never been held in any other country.
