Indian T20 expert Tilak Verma scored 54 runs against Essex for his team Hampshire in the Group-A match played in the Southampton on Thursday in the ongoing County Cricket League ODI Cup in England. He also shared a 98 -run partnership with Weatherley. Veatherley scored an unbeaten century in this match.
In this match, Hampshire beat Essex by 5 wickets. With this win, Hampshire points to the top of the points, while Essex is currently ranked eighth with two rows in two matches.
Essex batted first and scored 285 runs. Chasing the target of 286 runs, Hampshire scored 288 runs in 46.2 overs, losing 5 wickets.
Charlie Allison, Tom Wesley and Robin Das scored half a century from Essex Earlier, Hampshire captain Nick Gubins won the toss and decided to field. Batting first, Essex lost all wickets in 49.3 overs and scored 285 on the scoreboard with the help of Charlie Allison, Tom Wesley and Robin Das.
