Indian fast bowler Varun Aaron has announced his retirement from international cricket. The 35-year-old Varun made the announcement after Jharkhand's exit from the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 (VHT).
Varun bid adieu to red ball cricket at the end of the 2023-24 Ranji season and has now decided to quit the white ball format as well. He took 3 wickets at an average of 53.33 in 4 matches of the VHT 2024-25 List A (ODI) tournament.

Over the years, I have worked hard physically and mentally to overcome career-threatening injuries and come back again and again, and for this I thank my physio, trainers and coaches at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Now I want to enjoy the little joys in my life, but stay connected to the game, which has given me everything. Fast bowling has been my first love and will always be an important part of my life.

Debuted in 2011 35-year-old Aaron made his international debut in 2011. He played his first ODI against England at the Wankhede. Varun played 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for India and took 173 wickets at an average of 33.27 in 66 matches of his first-class career.
Made a name for himself by bowling at a speed of 150 kmph Aaron made his mark in the 2010-11 Vijay Hazare Trophy at the age of 21 by bowling over 150 kmph. But due to frequent injuries, he was in and out of the team.
Varun played his last international match in 2015 against South Africa. In domestic cricket, Aaron played 88 List A matches, taking 141 wickets at an average of 26.47 and an economy rate of 5.44. In T20 he took 93 wickets in 95 matches with an economy rate of 8.53.
Become the IPL champion in 2022 Aaron played 9 seasons in IPL. In which he performed for teams like Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans.
Aaron, who was part of the new franchise Gujarat Titans in the year 2022, also won the IPL under Hardik Pandya. A product of the MRF Pace Academy, Aaron can now be seen as a cricket commentator.
