Wrestler Sushil Kumar's bail, will have to go to jail again: Supreme Court said- Self-surrender within a week; Wrestler Sagar's father said- Honor survived

Haryana's two -time Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar has suffered a major blow from the Supreme Court. The court has canceled his bail in the murder case of junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhan Dhan and ordered him to surrender within 7 days.

The bench of Judge Sanjay Karol and Prashant Kumar Mishra approved the petition of the deceased Sagar's father Ashok Dhankhar, reversing the March 4 bail order of the Delhi High Court.

Sushil Kumar and his colleagues have been accused of attacking a property dispute in the murder of Sagar Dhankhar. According to a postmortem report, Sagar died due to a serious head injury. After the Supreme Court order, Sushil Kumar will now have to surrender to the police.

At the same time, Sagar Dhankhar's father expressed happiness over the court's decision and said that his decision was saved from the court's decision.

Sagar's father said 3 important things on the court's decision …

  • Relief from the Supreme Court's decision: Sagar's father said he was very happy with the Supreme Court's decision and he considers it a good decision. He believes that this hopes to get justice soon. He said that more than four years have passed, but now they feel that the hearing of the case will go ahead and get justice.
  • Demand for tightness in judgment: Sagar's father demanded that whatever the judgment was, it should be announced as soon as possible. He said that the case should be closed and the accused should get the most stringent punishment. He also said that he wanted the accused to be hanged.
  • Concerns over the slow process of case: He said that Sushil Kumar is sometimes receiving a call from Khapas, sometimes a superpower is being called and sometimes calls from relatives for settlement. He further said that the hearing is ongoing, testimony is also underway, but the process is very slow. The Supreme Court has also decided after six hearings.

The lawyer said – scientific evidence is present Senior lawyer Siddharth Mridul argued on behalf of Sagar Dhankhar's father in the court, while senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani defended Sushil Kumar. After the hearing, lawyer Joshi Tuli informed: Sushil Kumar was accused of killing four people, including Sagar Dhankhar in 2021, including 22 others. During the interim bail, he also tampered with witnesses. Because of this, not all witnesses could support it during the trial. Scientific evidence is also present against Sushil Kumar.

Delhi High Court granted bail The Delhi High Court granted conditional bail five months ago to Sushil Kumar, accused in the murder case. Sagar Dhankhar's uncle Narendra said that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court two days after the bail granted by the Delhi High Court to Sushil. Bail has been canceled after hearing in the Supreme Court and has been ordered to surrender within a week.

4 years were in Tihar jail According to information available, Sushil Kumar Junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar has been in the jail for 4 years in the murder case. 5 months ago, the High Court released him on a bond of Rs 50,000 and the same amount. The family of the deceased Sagar Dhankhar expressed his displeasure over the decision. Sagar's parents are constantly fighting for justice against Sushil and they demand that the only revenge for the murder of his son should be hanged.

The attack took place in 2021 Sushil Kumar was accused of attacking Sagar Dhankhar and two of his friends in the parking lot of Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium in 2021, in which Sagar died. Investigations revealed that the attack was caused by a dispute between young wrestlers and property disputes.

Interim bail was also granted for surgery In July 2023, Sushil also received interim bail for 7 days for surgery. The Rohini court ordered that during this time 2 security personnel would be with him for 24 hours. The bail was from July 23 to July 30, for which Sushil Kumar also had to pay a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.

According to the chargesheet, what happened on the night of May 4, 2021? According to the chargesheet filed by the police, there was a clash between two groups of wrestlers in the parking area of Chhatrasal Stadium, around 1pm on May 4, 2021. Meanwhile, there was a firing, in which 5 wrestlers were injured.

These include Sagar (23), Sonu (37), Amit Kumar (27) and 2 other wrestlers. Of these, Sagar died during treatment at the hospital. He was the son of a head constable in Delhi Police. A video of the incident has also surfaced, in which Sushil Kumar, along with his friends, was seen beating junior custody with a hockey stick.

This video was made by Sushil Kumar himself. After the incident, Sushil Kumar was arrested on May 23, 2021 from Mundka Metro Station. Delhi Police arrested Sushil and sent him to Rohini court. He was sent to jail in October 2021.
