Chernyshov has raised the question of the players’ concentration, what is he saying after the loss in the Bengaluru match?

Bengaluru FC has once again climbed to the top of the league table, surpassing Mohun Bagan Super Giants.

The teams is not new to losing even after leading by one goal. However, Mohammedan SC’s Russian coach Andrey Chernyshov believes that the lack of concentration and experience of his team’s footballers prevented them from winning the Wednesday’s match.

Sunil Chhetri changed the scenario

They maintained their dominance against Bengaluru FC at home on Wednesday, scoring a goal within the first eight minutes, but the picture gradually changed when Sunil Chhetri entered the field after 52 minutes of the match. He was the first to equalize and headed in his goal in the last minute of the match and gave Bengaluru FC a 2-1 victory. With this victory, Bengaluru FC climbed back to the top of the league table, surpassing Mohun Bagan.

Concentration and experience were needed

Explaining the reason for the loss after the match, Russian coach Chernyshov said, “Sometimes this happens. But it doesn’t happen in every match. Actually, concentration is important. They brought good players in the second half and put us under pressure. Our defenders also got tired towards the end. In that situation, concentration and experience were needed. In the end, we needed to make some changes in our playing style to keep the match a draw. Which our boys couldn’t do.”

Mohammedan SC is going to replace few footballers

Acknowledging the need to bring in more experienced players to the team, Chernyshov said on this day, “Now that we have played many matches, we understand who is good for the team and who is not suitable for this level of football. Every team has to gradually strengthen itself. For example, after the Champions League, all clubs will bring in better footballers to their teams and make the team stronger. This is normal in football. We also have to change a few players. Because, we understand where we are having problems. We definitely need to bring in a few experienced players.”

Gerard Zaragoza also praised Mohammedan’s fight

Bengaluru FC coach Gerard Zaragoza also praised Mohammedan’s fight. However, he is impressed by the fighting spirit of his team’s players. He said, “I won’t give credit only to Sunil, Vineeth. We won today because of our fighting spirit. We played well in the first ten minutes, but after that the opponent gradually put pressure on us. However, we showed how much of a fighting spirit we have. Our boys never got under pressure. That’s why they were able to turn things around. The game was difficult for us, but enjoyable. Mohammedan’s game was intense. Their mentality is also quite positive. Hopefully, they can maintain this game in the next match as well.”
