East Bengal finally won after 82 days. Fans got to see the old red and yellow on this day as they thrashed Bashundhara Kings 4-0 in the AFC Challenge League. The celebration was also boundless. However, coach Oscar Brujo is not getting emotional in all this. Although he is happy with the team’s performance, he is still wondering about a few things. Meanwhile, Anwar Ali wants more goals after scoring his first goal in the red-yellow jersey.
East Bengal are currently second in the group with four points. Brujo’s team will have to think about the quarter finals if they beat Nezmeh in the next match. Even if they lose or draw, the best second-placed team has a chance to go to the quarters. Brujo said after the Bashundhara match, “After many days we won. Dedicating this win to the fans. Especially those who came here and supported us. Hopefully we will play like this. This is just the first step.”
But Brujo is still worried about the fitness of the team. Although the situation is good, there are few concerns. In Brujo’s words, “After joining the team, my goal was to improve team’s physical ability. Only got three full practice sessions. The rest was spent in rehab. I am happy with the fitness of the team. Everyone saw that in the first half. But not completely happy. Because I want to play in the same rhythm for 90 minutes.”

Brujo’s problems have been compounded by Hector’s injury. However, the Spanish coach said, “I will have a good look at him tomorrow (Wednesday). He played well in the match. He seems to have a muscle problem. I will see him on Wednesday and try to heal him quickly. Even if Hector doesn’t get fit, there are alternatives.”
Four footballers scored goals for East Bengal on Tuesday. Asked if it was good for the team, Brujo replied, “It’s good for any team to have multiple goal-scorers. Bashundhara also had such players. But we were able to hold them back.
