Saudi Arabia to Host 2034 FIFA World Cup

2030 Edition Set for Spain, Portugal, and Morocco

FIFA, the global football governing body, has announced that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 FIFA Men’s World Cup. The decision was revealed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Wednesday. The 2030 tournament, meanwhile, will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

Infantino shared that expanding football’s reach to more countries remains a priority. He also emphasized that the increased number of teams in recent tournaments has not affected the quality but has instead created more opportunities.

Hosting the 2034 World Cup is expected to bring changes to Saudi Arabia, with discussions about improving freedoms and rights for women.

Women’s World Cup Heads to Brazil in 2027

FIFA had earlier announced that Brazil will host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup from June 24 to July 25. This will be the first time the tournament takes place in South America.

The Women’s World Cup will feature 32 teams, with Spain entering as the defending champions after their 2023 victory in the tournament co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. FIFA is expected to finalize the host cities and stadiums in Brazil next year, with 12 venues already showing interest. Many of these stadiums were previously used during the 2014 Men’s World Cup.
