Jesús Navas, one of Sevilla’s greatest football legends, played his last home game at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium as he retired from professional football. The 39-year-old Spanish star, who has struggled with a long-standing hip injury, received an unforgettable tribute from his club, teammates, and fans before the match against Celta de Vigo.
Navas, a World Cup and two-time European Championship winner, was visibly emotional as Sevilla honoured his incredible career. Before the game, a giant mosaic with his face and the phrase “The Pride of Nervión” was displayed in the stadium. Both teams formed a guard of honour, and all of Navas’ trophies with Sevilla—including four Europa League titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, a European Super Cup, and a Spanish Super Cup—were presented at the center of the field.

Accompanied by his two children, Navas walked onto the pitch one last time as fans sang the club anthem a cappella. The players of Celta de Vigo joined in the tribute by wearing red shirts and presenting Navas with a signed jersey and a commemorative plaque.
The emotional farewell continued as Navas, along with his children, performed the ceremonial kick-off. During the game, fans chanted his name, and when he was substituted in the second half, the entire stadium stood to applaud. Overwhelmed by the moment, Navas kissed the pitch and thanked the crowd as the match briefly paused in his honour.
