Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior was at the centre of controversy again after a dramatic 3-3 draw with Rayo Vallecano. The Brazilian striker, known for his excellent skills and fiery temper, angered the home fans with a provocative gesture after the match in Vallecas.
As Vinicius headed towards the tunnel, frustrated by the result and the last-minute penalty decision, he raised two fingers at the Rayo fans in what looked like a ‘second division’ sign. The gesture angered the home crowd, who had already booed the Real Madrid player throughout the match.

The match itself was dramatic, with Real Madrid coming from 2-0 down to draw. Despite his comeback, Vinicius left the field visibly upset and feeling manhandled after an incident in the 80th minute. During a collision between Jude Bellingham and Abdul Mumin near the penalty area, Vinicius became involved in the fight and appeared to be kicked by both players. However, the referee and VAR ruled that it was not a penalty, leaving Vinicius and Real Madrid disappointed.
The Brazilian missed another chance in the 93rd minute. A superb header, which he took himself, was set up by Antonio Rudiger, but the defender was unable to convert, resulting in a draw.
Vinicius’ performance is a matter of debate. While his talent and influence on the pitch are undeniable (many consider him one of the best players in the world), his actions often cause controversy. Gestures like Vallecas will only add to the warm reception he receives in stadiums across Spain.
Rayo Vallecano fans will probably remember Vinicius’ actions as much as the thrilling games.
